Summer holidays in La Valle with hiking, mountain biking, climbing and much more

Active adventures in the UNESCO Dolomites around the Fanes-Senes-Braies and the Puez-Odle Nature Park in South Tyrol.

I know lots of great walking paths, hiking trails, mountain bike routes and special spots in the local area and in the neighbouring nature reserves, which make summer here so varied. I’d be happy to share these experiences with you. I am available every day from 8:00 to 10:00 to offer personalised hiking and tour recommendations and provide advice on routes, difficulty levels and current conditions. Together, we’ll discover what suits you best: a leisurely stroll, a more challenging hike, or a mix of both. I will also show you how to make the most of your time in the mountains.

I will personally lead you on a guided hike once a week, offering you genuine insights into the mountain world of Alta Badia. As a special service, we provide you with rucksacks, walking poles, water bottles and maps to ensure you are well prepared for your hike.

Alpine
hiking

Hiking is the most popular summer activity in the village. As South Tyrol’s first certified hiking village, La Valle is renowned for its clearly-marked trails, nature-based experiences, and commitment to sustainable hiking tourism. The Armentara and Rit meadows, which are particularly famous in spring for their abundance of flowers, lie just above the village. Walks, hikes, mountain bike rides and Nordic walking tours lead you through this unique cultural landscape at the foot of Sas dla Crusc. Guided hikes are offered daily in collaboration with the tourist office during the summer months. In addition, the hiking bus plays a key role in the village by enabling visitors to comfortably reach the hiking trails of the Fanes-Senes-Braies Nature Park and other hiking destinations without a car.

Mountain
biking

Alta Badia offers ideal conditions for mountain bikers of all abilities. Active guests will enjoy the well-known road routes and events such as the Sellaronda Bike Day and the Maratona dles Dolomites. Away from these major events, there are numerous bike paths and routes suitable for leisure cyclists and families. Those who wish to experience the alpine landscape at a more leisurely pace can hire an e-bike from the tourist office. This makes it easy to cover longer distances and climb hills in comfort.

Rock
climbing

The Dolomites are one of the most significant climbing regions in the Alps, offering a wide range of routes and via ferratas. Around La Valle, there are numerous options ranging from classic via ferratas to more challenging alpine routes. Guided via ferrata tours can be organised on request for an additional fee. These tours are aimed primarily at experienced mountaineers who are sure-footed.

Other
sports

Around 30 minutes from the hotel, in Campo Tures, guided rafting tours of varying difficulty levels are available. We can also organise horse riding trips in the surrounding area on request, allowing you to experience the peaceful and unspoilt landscape of Alta Badia. Golf enthusiasts will find a 9-hole course at the Alta Badia Golf Club near Corvara. Situated at an altitude of around 1,700 metres on a sunny plateau with gentle slopes, it is an ideal place to enjoy a relaxing round of golf in the mountains.
