A family of passionate hosts in La Valle
For host Harald and his wife Kristin, hospitality is a top priority and something they practise every single day.
I grew up in the family hotel and started working here when I was 14. Even then, I knew this was where I belonged. The day-to-day life of the hotel, direct guest contact, and responsibility for creating a welcoming atmosphere have shaped me from the very beginning.
To me, you are more than just guests. It is important to me that you feel welcome and want to come back - in keeping with our motto “Come as a guest, leave as a friend”. This philosophy continues to influence how we run our hotel to this day.
We completely renovated and rebranded the hotel in 2024. I now run it together with my wife Kristin. As a qualified sommelier, she brings her keen eye for quality, enjoyment and attention to detail to the various areas of the hotel.
With just 19 rooms, the Alcialc remains deliberately intimate and personally run. I am on site every day, always available and at the heart of the action. In summer, I’m happy to share my knowledge of the local area with you, whether you are interested in short walks and hikes, mountain bike tours, or discovering peaceful spots in the surrounding mountains and nature reserves. Once a week, I also accompany you on a guided hike, which I always look forward to. In winter, I can help you plan skiing days, winter walks or snowshoeing and I am happy to offer recommendations and share my experience.
This creates a stay that does not rely on grand promises, but on personal touches, experience and genuine care.
