Its position on the mountainside at the foot of the majestic Sasso di Santa Croce gives it a magnificent view over the Dolomites of the Val Badia. In 2015, the town of La Val in South Tyrol was the first to obtain the "European hiking village" certification for the spaces, experiences and services offered.

In summer it's the ideal starting point to go on walks to explore the areas beauty spots like, for example, the beautiful Armentara meadows. In winter the village of La Valle, although far from the chaos of the bigger ski centres is only 5-6 km from the nearest ski lifts of Alta Badia-Sellaronda or Plan de Corones.

The village of La Valle is the ideal unspoilt, sunny place to breathe fresh mountain air, being far from busy main roads. Despite its quietness, the Tourist Association of La Valle is very active and organises numerous events, shows, several free excursions like snowshoe and toboggan tours. In addition you can get to know the Ladin culture firsthand and admire, for example, Les Viles, the famous wooden Ladin farmhouses scattered along the mountain slopes.
